Tämä kirja on tarkoitettu kouluun yläkoulun islamin opintoihin. Kirjan aiheiksi on valittu islamin historiasta, laista ja etiikasta asioita, jotka vaikuttavat siihen, minkälainen islam on nykyään. Yhtenä tämän kirjan tärkeimmistä tavoitteista on antaa oppilaalle tietoa omasta uskonnostaan. Tässä kirjassa opiskellaan islamin historiaa alkaen siitä, mitä tapahtui profeetta Muhammedin kuoleman jälkeen. Koraanin kokoaminen on yksi tärkeä vaihe näissä tapahtumissa. Ensimmäiset neljä kalifia jatkoivat Profeetan työtä, mutta sitten alkoi hajaannus ja muslimien taistelut toisiaan vastaan. Sen seurauksena syntyi kaksi nykyisen islamin pääsuuntausta, sunnalaisuus ja shiialaisuus. Tutustumme myös siihen, miten islam levisi maailmalle. Islamilaisista tieteistä ja taiteista käydään läpi mitä keksintöjä muslimit tekivät ennen eurooppalaisia. Käymme läpi historiaa ja miten muslimien suurvalta rappeutui ja muslimimaat eristäytyivät ja taantuivat. Islamilaista kuva-ja musiikkitaidetta sivutaan myös.Islamin lakia käymme läpi jokaisen muslimin oman uskonnonharjoittamisen osalta, naisten oikeuksien kannalta ja rikoslain rangaistusten osalta. Olen ottanut aiheista vaikeita kohtia, ja sellaisia, jotka usein aiheuttavat väärinymmärryksiä. Toivon, että opiskelija saa ymmärrystä omasta uskonnostaan. Viimeinen osa tässä kirjassa on islamin etiikka. Pohdimme kolmea asiaa, joissa kaikissa on aiheena kuolema, ja saako ketään tappaa. Aiheita ovat abortti, sota ja eutanasia. Oppilaat saavat itse ensin tutkia näiden aiheiden historiaa ja nykytilaa, ja sen jälkeen käymme kaikki kolme aihetta läpi islamin kannalta.
