Au cours de sa longue vie (1830-1914), Frédéric Mistral a fait éditer seulement ses grandes oeuvres : Mireille (1859) Calendal (1867), Les Îles d'or, édition originale (1876), édition refondue (1889), Nerte (1884), La Reine Jeanne (1890), Le Poème du Rhône (1897) ou Les Olivades (1912). Roumanille et Mistral y partagèrent le pseudonyme de Cascarelet.
