Im Neustart der ersten Nachkriegszeit wurden die wichtigsten Weichen für die Entwicklung der folgenden Jahrzehnte gestellt. Doch die Fahrt ins Heute lief selten glatt und störungsfrei. Da wir alle im langsamen Wandel der vergangenen Jahrzehnte gelebt haben, ist manches fast unbemerkt geschehen. Anderes hat sich tief in unser Gedächtnis eingeprägt.In diesem Band interessieren der Wiederaufbau und die neue Gestalt Kölns, das neue politische Leben in der Stadt, die Entwicklung der Wirtschaft und des Verkehrs, die Veränderungen der Stadtgesellschaft und ihrer Kultur.
