Diese Studie wurde mit dem Ziel durchgeführt, die Primatenpopulationen zu zählen und die Pflanzen und Organe zu inventarisieren, von denen sie sich im heiligen Wald von Kikélé in der Gemeinde Bassila im Norden Benins ernähren. Tag- und nachtaktive Primaten wurden nach der Methode der vollständigen Zählung gezählt. Zur Bestandsaufnahme der von Primaten verzehrten Pflanzen und Organe wurden Befragungen von 60 Ressourcenpersonen und Feldbeobachtungen über 90 Tage durchgeführt. Der heilige Wald von Kikélé beherbergt drei Primatenarten, darunter eine nachtaktive Art Galago senegalensis (16 Individuen) und zwei tagaktive Arten, darunter Cercopithecus mona (2 Individuen) und Colobus vellerosus (28 Individuen). 35 Pflanzenarten wurden als Nahrungsressourcen für C. vellerosus, 39 Pflanzenarten für C. mona und 12 Pflanzenarten für G. senegalensis inventarisiert. G. senegalensis ernährt sich ausschließlich von reifen Früchten, während sich die anderen beiden Arten hauptsächlich von Früchten und Blättern ernähren. Leguminosen und Mesophanerophyten waren in der Nahrung am stärksten vertreten.

Les espèces envahissantes constituent un problème écologique et de gestion majeur dans les écosystèmes naturels et représentent une menace pour de nombreux habitats. Les espèces végétales envahissantes concurrencent les espèces indigènes en les éliminant progressivement de leurs niches et entraînent parfois la perte de services écosystémiques tels que la filtration de l'eau, la stabilisation des sols et la lutte contre les parasites. Elles peuvent également entraîner une réduction du fourrage pour la faune, la mort d'animaux sauvages en raison du manque de nourriture ou parfois la mort d'animaux sauvages lorsqu'ils se nourrissent d'espèces végétales envahissantes toxiques. L'invasion des habitats de plantes indigènes modifie les macro-nutriments et les micro-nutriments par les plantes envahissantes et cela modifie les produits chimiques du sol. Le but de cette étude était d'établir si la plante envahissante Lantana camara change les propriétés chimiques du sol. L'objectif principal était d'évaluer la composition des éléments nutritifs du sol dans les zones envahies par Lantana camara L. et comment ils diffèrent des zones sans Lantana camara.
