This book is one mans attempt to make peace with a world that was on the brink of mutually agreed upon destruction. He chose a bicycle as his medium of expression and named it Friend. His intent was to go from California and head east until going to The Soviet Union. He wanted to meet Soviets and show others that they were alright. He made it as far as East Germany but was not allowed to travel any farther east. From there the traveling cyclist heads for the Mediterranean and the Middle East. And then onward around the world. He ran out of money after one year of traveling. He traveled across large continents like Australia and China and circumvented the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. In all he comes away with a world experience and a new way of looking at the planet.

This book is 164 pages of my cartoons and doodles. There is a bunch of bicycle comics (including a number from Sunday Comics with Taj series on Pinkbike), lots of low- brow humor, dad jokes, questionable puns, and some things that are probably only funny to me. There's a few things I'm actually serious about, but hopefully you can't tell, and even a few essays. I call it a collection of not-too-artsy-fartsy work I've done over the last few years (though, there are a few fart jokes). Hopefully you'll find a giggle in here somewhere.Note to parents: This is not the follow up to my children's book, Bernie the Bike Builder. I sincerely hope there is nothing in this book that will offend anyone too much, but there is a few f-words (f*ck and f*rt). Some of the humor might not be appropriate for young readers, heck, some of the humor isn't even funny!

Die jeweiligen Internetadressen wurden sorgfältig recherchiert und werden regelmäßig auf ihre Aktualität überprüft. Berücksichtigt wurde der fächerübergreifende Ansatz in Sachkunde, Deutsch und Mathematik für die Grundschule. Ein verständliches Technik-Kapitel sowie methodisch-didaktische Hinweise vermitteln auch neu einsteigenden Lehrkräften die nötigen Kenntnisse beim Umgang mit dem Computer. Die Hefte können auch sehr gut in der Sekundarstufe I eingesetzt werden.
