Mama Tingo was born on November 8, 1921 in the Dominican Republic. She was the leader of a group of farmers whose lands wanted to be taken from them. She has a doctorate in leadership in higher education and works as a public librarian. Raynelda spends her free time thinking (and drafting) about books to write. As a librarian, her work with children inspired her to write about the contributions of Hispanic women in history.
