Esta obra ha sido coordinada por el Dr. Antoni Gelabert Mas, desde su responsabilidad como Coordinador del Grupo de Urología Oncológica de la AEU. El formato de la misma responde al concepto de trabajo de consenso, con una finalidad eminentemente práctica. Los trabajos realizados constituyen uno de los mecanismos más eficaces para mantener una alta calidad asistencial en el ejercicio diario de la medicina; con ello se pretende uniformizar la asistencia para que todos los pacientes tengan un tratamiento estándar aceptado y validado.Para la elaboración del consenso sobre Cáncer vesical que no infiltra músculo, denominación actual del concepto anterior de Cáncer vesical superficial o Carcinoma urotelial Tis/TaT1, se ha seleccionado desde el Grupo de Urología Oncológica a un nutrido colectivo de urólogos expertos que han sido elegidos teniendo en cuenta su afinidad y experiencia en el tema, y de manera particular sus aportaciones a la literatura médica de referencia. La metodología de trabajo que se ha seguido es la de discusión en grupo de los principales trabajos de mejor evidencia científica con la visión crítica de las experiencias personales contrastadas. Se han establecido conclusiones clasificadas por grados de evidencia científica y de recomendación que creemos van a permitir sentar las bases para establecer un mejor diagnóstico, tratamiento y seguimiento de los pacientes afectos de esta patología. De manera sintética, los objetivos de la presente obra son: a) servir de guía de conocimiento ordenado y sistematizado; b) mejorar las bases de la práctica clínica de esta entidad nosológica; y c) homogeneizar comportamientos de práctica clínica uro-oncológica.

What can case studies about the lived experiences of cancer contribute to an interest in the concept of structural vulnerability? And can a consideration of structural vulnerability enhance applied anthropological work in cancer prevention and control? To answer these questions the contributors in this volume explore what it means to be structurally vulnerable; how structural vulnerabilities intersect with cancer risk, diagnosis, care seeking, caregiving, clinical-trial participation, and survivorship; and how differing local, national, and global political contexts and histories inform vulnerability. These case studies illustrate how quotidian experiences of structural vulnerability influence and are altered by a cancer diagnosis at various points in the continuum of care. The case studies examine cancer as a set of diseases and biosocial phenomena.
