American D-Boy 2
Darius 'D-Boy' Jensen was pronounced dead from a car bomb explosion. But is he really dead? His only living sibling, Jay-Roc, knows the truth and he's been keeping the secret for 7 years. D-Boy and his lawyer, John, exiled themselves to Dubai until the 7-year statute of limitation of investigation was up. D-Boy and John were excited and anxious to go back home to the United States. What they didn't know was that Special Agent Heron dispatched an agent to monitor and keep tabs on his brother Jay-roc. J-Roc was running American D-Boy Records and clothing line that D-Boy founded before his supposed demise. He signed a group called the Billigoats that became the biggest rap group in history. Jay-roc planned a tour to Dubai as a way to sneak D-Boy and John back into the United States, but there is a glitch. One of the Billigoats is murdered on the last day of the tour which makes it difficult for them to get back to the States without raising some suspicion.Meanwhile, Special Agent Heron sealed a treacherous deal with a Mexican drug cartel called Lost Souls. The plan was to open up the southern border to allow thousands of Lost Soul soldiers into the United States. Two of the Lost Souls soldiers, The Diaz Brothers, staged a coup and started their own organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Diaz Brothers quickly become competition for the Lost Souls Cartel with their own brand of highly potent cocaine labeled 'Super-Coke' that was sweeping the nation.

Broughtupsy
At once cinematic yet intimate, Broughtupsy is an enthralling debut novel about a young Jamaican woman grappling with grief as she discovers her family, her home, is always just out of reach

Tired of not having a place to land, twenty-year-old Akúa flies from Canada to her native Jamaica to reconnect with her estranged sister Tamika. Their younger brother Bryson has recently passed from sickle cell anemia—the same disease that took their mother ten years prior—and Akúa carries his remains in a small wooden box with the hope of reassembling her family.

Over the span of two fateful weeks, Akúa and Tamika visit significant places from their childhood, but time spent with her sister only clarifies how different they are, and how years of living abroad have distanced Akúa from her home culture. "Am I Jamaican?" she asks herself again and again. Beneath these haunting doubts lie anger and resentment at being abandoned by her own blood. "Why didn’t you stay with me?" she wants to ask Tamika.

Wandering through Kingston with her brother's ashes in tow, Akúa meets Jayda, a brash stripper who shows her a different side of the city. As the two grow closer, Akúa confronts the difficult reality of being gay in a deeply religious family, and what being a gay woman in Jamaica actually means.

By turns diasporic family saga, bildungsroman, and terse sexual awakening, Broughtupsy is a profoundly moving debut novel that asks: what do we truly owe our family, and what are we willing to do to savor the feeling of home?

Death Comes for the Archbishop
The narrative is based on two historical figures of the late 19th century, Jean-Baptiste Lamy and Joseph Projectus Machebeuf, and rather than any one singular plot, is the stylized re-telling of their lives serving as Roman Catholic clergy in New Mexico. The narrative has frequent digressions, either in terms of stories related to the pair (including the story of the Our Lady of Guadalupe and the murder of an oppressive Spanish priest at Acoma Pueblo) or through their recollections. The narration is in third-person omniscient style. Cather includes many fictionalized accounts of actual historical figures, including Kit Carson, Manuel Antonio Chaves and Pope Gregory XVI.In the prologue, Bishop Ferrand, an Irish bishop who works in the New World, solicits three cardinals at Rome to pick his candidate for the newly created diocese of New Mexico (which has recently passed into American hands). Bishop Ferrand is successful in getting his candidate, the Auvergnat Jean-Marie Latour, recommended by the cardinals over the recommendation of the Bishop of Durango (under whose territory New Mexico had previously fallen). One of the cardinals, a Spaniard named Allende, alludes to a painting by El Greco taken from his family by a missionary to the New World and lost, and asks for the new Bishop to search for it.

Render Me Bountiful
Render Me Bountiful is a collection of poetry that was written to fill your entire mind, body, and spirit with a new breath of life. You are at once captivated by the poetry's potent truth and honesty, rhythmic patterns, and flowing imagery. Each poem will communicate to every reader a valued interpretation to help them grow in understanding their purpose, as well as appreciate the many experiences they have faced or will face, good or bad, throughout life, ones that each and every one of us goes through. You will sing, you will dance, you will rejoice, you may even cry. The three sections - Rhapsody, Stars and Dust, and Labyrinth contain poems you will find yourself reading over and over again for the wisdom each poem offers, for the light each brings. The author tells us in the poem, "Hearts Forever Young," that there is much more we should and must anticipate as we move forward in life rather than simply growing old. There are the doubtless reasons we should trust in the grand unknown, where, as stated so profoundly in the poem, "Love Is," the abstract and often intangible expression of love, when you do find it, means "...you and I never asking why...."
