Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Spanische Sprache, Literatur, Landeskunde, Note: 2, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Institut für romanische Philologie), Veranstaltung: Spanische und portugiesische Lexikographie: Theorie und Praxis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Klappentext des Wörterbuches "How to survive the Chilean Jungle" lässt bereits erahnen, dass es sich bei diesem Wörterbuch nicht um ein klassisches Schulwörterbuch handelt. Dieser Umstand macht das 2003 von John Brennan geschriebene Buch im lexikographischen Sinne sehr interessant. Nach Klärung der Frage, was genau Lexikographie ist und einem Exkurs zu Wörterbüchern soll auf das chilenische Spanisch eingegangen werden. Es verwundert, dass es bis dato noch kein aktuelles Wörterbuch gibt, das sich eingehend dem chilenischen Spanisch widmet, obwohl dieses eine stark ausgeprägte Mundart entwickelt hat und die Chilenen gerne mit ihrem Dialekt spielen. In diesem Zusammenhang soll auch kurz die Entstehung und Bedeutung des "english lexicon of chilean slang &spanish sayings" (BRENNAN 2003, Einbanddeckel) erläutert werden, bevor ich mich der Analyse der Wörterbuchtypologie sowie der Beschreibung der Mikro- und Makrostruktur widme. An Beispielen einzelner Lemmata sollen Besonderheiten und Strukturen aus "How to survive the Chilean Jungle" aufgezeigt werden. Der Leser sollte nach Lektüre der Arbeit einen fundierten Eindruck sowohl über den Aufbau des Wörterbuches, als auch über die Strukturierung der einzelnen Einträge bekommen haben.
